Senior Business Analyst

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support large-scale Department of War (DoW) ERP modernization initiative under the Army’s Enterprise Business Systems – Convergence (EBS-C) program. This role supports the Multi-Functional Capability Team (MFCT) and serves as a senior analyst on a SAFe Agile Team.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and facilitate requirements definition and refinement, translating business intent into SAP S/4HANA-aligned, ART-ready requirements that progress from discovery through Definition of Done (DoD) and are successfully placed into the System Integrator’s ART backlog for execution.

Key Responsibilities (Ordered by Priority)

1. SAFe Agile Requirements Definition & Team-Level Delivery (Primary)

• Serve as a senior member of a SAFe Agile Team, responsible for driving requirements from concept through Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD)
• Lead and facilitate structured working group sessions with Business Owners, Product Owners, key stakeholders, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to elicit, clarify, and validate business and functional requirements
• Plan and execute requirements workshops, backlog refinement sessions, and solution definition meetings to drive shared understanding and decision-making
• Translate working group outcomes into clear, testable, ART-ready Features, and acceptance criteria
• Ensure requirements are properly decomposed, prioritized, and accepted into the System Integrator’s ART backlog
• Act as the primary functional bridge between business intent and system integrator delivery teams, resolving ambiguity and reducing rework

2. SAP S/4HANA Functional & Process Alignment (Primary)

• Translate business and operational needs into SAP S/4HANA-aligned functional requirements
• Apply SAP Best Business Practices (BBPs) to validate requirements and reduce configuration and integration risk
• Support functional integration across logistics, finance, transportation, and related ERP domains
• Ensure alignment between business process design, functional requirements, and system configuration outcomes

3. Process Modeling, Governance & Delivery Support (Primary)

• Develop and maintain process models and flows using Visio or BPMN-style frameworks
• Support solution definition, release planning, and PI preparation through structured analysis and documentation
• Maintain governance artifacts, traceability, and risk registers within Azure DevOps (ADO)

4. AI-Assisted Requirements & Prompt Engineering (Secondary / Enabling)

• Use AI tools selectively to accelerate requirements discovery, refinement, and documentation
• Develop and refine prompts to improve consistency and efficiency of analysis outputs
• Apply AI techniques as an augmentation to analyst workflows, not a replacement for functional judgment

5. Army Vantage & Data-Informed Analysis (Secondary / Enabling)

• Leverage Army Vantage as needed to support prioritization, performance insights, or decision support
• Translate analytical insights into supporting context for requirements and capability discussions
• Align ERP functional work with enterprise data and analytics considerations when applicable

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in business analysis, functional architecture, or ERP modernization
• Demonstrated experience working on a SAFe Agile Team operating within an Agile Release Train (ART)
• Proven ability to define requirements, mature them to Definition of Done (DoD), and transition them into the System Integrator’s ART backlog
• Hands-on experience supporting SAP S/4HANA or comparable ERP platforms
• Experience supporting DoD, Army, or other federal enterprise programs

Security Clearance

• Active Secret clearance required (or ability to obtain and maintain one)

Core Skills

• SAFe Agile requirements definition, refinement, and backlog management
• Leading Epic, Feature, and requirements working groups
• SAP S/4HANA functional analysis and Best Business Practices
• Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, or equivalent Agile lifecycle tools
• Process modeling (Visio/BPMN)
• Stakeholder coordination across government, prime contractor, and system integrator teams

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience using AI tools or prompt engineering to support analysis
• Familiarity with Army Vantage or enterprise analytics platforms
• Familiarity with process mining tools (e.g., Signavio)
• SAFe certifications (SSM, POPM, RTE, or equivalent)
• Prior experience on Army EBS-C, GCSS-A, LMP, or similar ERP programs

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Master’s degree preferred
