Part-Time Bookkeeper (Entry-Level)

Location: On-site, Fairfax VA

Schedule: Part-Time (approx. 20 hours per week; flexible schedule)

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support our day-to-day accounting and financial record-keeping activities. This is an entry-level position, ideal for someone with basic bookkeeping experience who is looking to grow their skills in a supportive environment. Experience with QuickBooks is a plus, but not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and categorize financial transactions accurately
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records
  • Assist with monthly financial reports and summaries
  • Support invoice processing and expense tracking
  • Help ensure compliance with basic accounting and record-keeping standards
  • Perform other administrative or accounting-related tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Entry-level bookkeeping or accounting experience (academic, internship, or professional)
  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience using QuickBooks (Online or Desktop)
  • Prior experience in a small business or professional services environment
  • Associate’s degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
